Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s funniest bits compiled for your entertainment

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is many things and a big character is most certainly one of them.

There are few managers in the Premier League if not the world that possess the same sort of infectious personality as the German, and that shows in how many hugs he dishes around and receives after winning games. And that seems to be happening a fair bit at the moment.

Indeed, while Liverpool are currently bossing things at the top of the Premier League, we’re all being treated to what some might consider his “best” side – not the one that moans about anything from the wind to the snow when results don’t go his way.

Should you be in the market for a compilation of Jurgen Klopp’s best bits, which we’re absolutely positive you are, then we have just the video for you…

Klopp’s Liverpool side have won all eight of their opening Premier League fixtures, and with close rivals Manchester United coming up, who are somewhat struggling at the moment, we expect there will be happier times ahead for the ‘normal one’.

Arsenal fans drool over William Saliba’s eye-catching displays

Arsenal loanee William Saliba played his first full 90 minutes of the season for Saint-Etienne as they beat their arch-rivals Lyon 1-0 on Sunday.

Supporters caught a glimpse of what they can expect from the Frenchman next season as he helped his side keep a clean sheet.

Saliba won two tackles, two aerial battles and had a pass success rate of 84% that helped Les Verts on their way to three points in Ligue 1.

The game looked to be heading to a 0-0 draw but a last-minute winner from Robert Beric secured Saint-Etienne’s first win over Lyon in two years.

The-18-year-old joined in with the supporters at full-time and led the celebrations with his teammates after the victory.

Gunners’ fans loved what they saw as they took to social media to express their sheer delight. One supporter said that the future is looking very bright for the Frenchman after a special evening for the 18-year-old.

Here you will find some of the best comments from Arsenal fans:

West Ham fans look back on 2018 protest against the board during Burnley match

West Ham supporters have been reacting to the fans protest in the 3-0 defeat by Burnley in 2018, with many believing it to be a very decisive moment of the past few years.

One Hammer even described it as “the best thing to happen to the club”, with many holding the idea that it prompted a change in strategy from the West Ham board.

Since then, they got rid of the unpopular David Moyes, replacing him with a Premier League winner in Manuel Pellegrini, who they have backed significantly with a big increase in spending.

Under the Chilean West Ham have invested an estimated £165m and have started the season well with only two defeats in eight league games, so many have positive memories of that day and believe it was a necessary step for the club to progress.

Here are some of the reactions from the London Stadium faithful, who share the same feeling about the protests which occurred.

Exclusive: John Hartson hails Man City’s squad rejuvenation policy

While speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, John Hartson has praised Manchester City’s ability to rejuvenate their squad when needed.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been one of the most dominant forces of English football in recent years, winning the Premier League four times this decade.

The Citizens have spent big money in that time, and continued their spending spree by splashing out £62.8m on midfielder Rodri this summer – despite having won the league for the second consecutive season.

The indoor football skills in the video below have to be seen to be believed…

It’s that approach of freshening things up that Hartson has pinpointed as something City have fully embraced and been rewarded by.

He said: “Man City have done that perfectly. They’ve got Sergio Aguero as their top goal-scorer, and then they have Gabriel Jesus for competition.

“It keeps players on their toes. I’m not sure whether you need to do it (buy a handful of new players) every year, but every so often. When a new player comes to the club it gives the whole group a lift.

“You can sense it in training, everybody wants to impress the new player. It’s a different voice in the dressing room. Dressing rooms can become stale at times. You’ve got to freshen the dressing room up and you’ve got to add to the squad to keep them hungry.”

As former players and managers testify to, winning the Premier League is hard, but retaining it is far more difficult. City are the only team in the 2010s to have won it on consecutive occasions, and while that’s a testament to Guardiola and his players, it also comes down to their understanding of needing to constantly improve, and not resting on their laurels.

Getting to the peak of the mountain is only part of the journey, and City have shown in recent transfer windows that the only way to stay there is by being ruthless in their decision-making.

Just this past summer. for example, Guardiola waved goodbye to utility man Fabian Delph, and brought in a bona-fide long-term replacement for Fernandinho, with a big-money swoop for Rodri from Atletico Madrid.

Constantly keeping things fresh and the motivation levels high is an art form.

And, as Hartson quite rightly suggests, City really have mastered that in recent years.

Manchester City fans slam Stuart Pearce’s title prediction

Manchester City fans have bashed former manager and player Stuart Pearce after he put Liverpool as the favourites for the Premier League title. The Reds are currently sat at the top of the table, collecting 25 points from nine games and proving to be just as formidable as they were last season. Liverpool’s lead in the league may have been cut from eight to six after their draw at Old Trafford, but Jurgen Klopp’s men remain the only unbeaten side in the Premier League still.Pearce told talkSPORT: “I think Liverpool will win the Premier League comfortably this year.“I’m not sure they’ll go unbeaten, but I can’t see them losing more than two games. They’re still clear favourites.“Those could be against Manchester City, potentially, but if you go into the game against your nearest rivals with a six point buffer, it will put real pressure on Man City to come out and play.“That might just suit Liverpool.â€As a result of his fair yet controversial comments, City supporters have jumped on his case to remind him that it is still early doors in the Premier League.

Fans have also savagely alluded to the time Pearce strangely put goalkeeper David James up front to try and salvage three points against Middlesbrough, whilst he actually had striker John Macken sat on the bench.

Pep Guardiola’s side did successfully claw themselves back from behind Liverpool to win the title by a mere point. Liverpool wereÂtop of the table from matchday 16, until their draw in a Merseyside derby on matchday 29, which pushed City above them as they beat Bournemouth.

Here’s what the fans have had to say to their ex-manager’s comments…

Everton have lost one of their game winners in Bernard, says Noel Whelan

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Pundit View series, which provides opinion and analysis on recent quotes from journalists, pundits, players and managers…

Everton’s Bernard sustained a knee injury in the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend and could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

What did he say?

Everton confirmed after the game that the Brazilian picked up a grade 2 medial ligament injury. The report also states that the medical staff are waiting for knee consultants to determine the fastest possible route in his return.

Bernard did score his second goal of this Premier League season against West Ham United a week prior to his injury. As a result, Noel Whelan believes he will be a massive miss for Everton.

The pundit told Football Insider: “He has been coming into form, we questioned about two weeks ago about him needing to chip in with more assists and goals and he’s been doing that.

“Y’know now it’s a huge blow as he is one player who can change a game, provide a little bit of brilliance, a bit of magic and when you’re just finding your feet, you’re getting that form and confidence back, to get an injury now when they need those sort of players to win games…it’s a massive blow for Everton.”

More concern for goals now

The pressure will continue to mount on the shoulders of Marco Silva until the club begin to move up the league. In truth, injuries as such are just pure bad luck and nothing can be done about it.

However, it does now mean they’ve lost a creative spark from their team and one capable of finding the back of the net.

Indeed, Everton have so far only bagged 10 times in the Premier League, and two of these have come from Bernard.

Just when it looked like he was about to find his form for the Blues, he gets injured. His performance against West Ham was one of his more notable in Everton colours and fans would have been hoping for more to get them far away from the drop zone.

It does seem like the Toffees have lost one of their match winners now.

Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi must take advantage of lucky postponement

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Opinion series, which provides analysis, insight and opinion on any issue within the beautiful game, from Paul Pogba’s haircuts to League Two relegation battles…

So, how did you spend your Saturday when the game was called off?

Just sit back and relax knowing that the two losses in a row couldn’t be extended to three just yet? Or did you just stand and revel in the fact that Derby County lost again?

The question now becomes whether or not this is postponement will be a good thing or a bad thing for Forest.

Obviously this fixture will have to be made up later in the season, so it’s not as if Forest have been given a free hit when it comes to the hectic Championship schedule.

On the whole, this should be viewed as a good thing, in fact, if there was one time of the season they could have asked for something like this to happen, you can make the argument that this weekend was the perfect one.

The biggest benefactors of this postponement will be those who are still on the injury table. As @NFFC_live put it, there are some Red players who are “now one week closer to fitness without missing a game for Sabri Lamouchi’s side.”

Watch Nottingham Forest Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below

As discussed previously on FFC, the fact that Lamouchi’s men are going through a bit of an ‘injury crisis’ at the moment with some of their key players like captain Michael Dawson and midfield rock Samba Sow currently on the touchline with knocks.

Combine that with how they haven’t done so well in their absences and it shows just how crucial they are. This will give them a little bit of breathing space when it comes to getting those players back to fitness.

Not to mention the big gamble that he took by choosing to rest Lewis Grabban, now he has been given a free weekend to get his batteries recharged ahead of the next couple of weeks.

Check out Matchday with Max’s latest Nottingham Forest vlog in the video below…

The other benefactor will be the Forest boss himself.

He can go into training this week knowing that his players should all be fully charged and able to get them working harder, rather than cutting down a little bit after fatigue from the weekend.

As a result, there should be no reason why they can’t use the rest to their advantage and be able to start off with a much higher tempo to overwhelm a defence that has conceded the joint-second most goals so far this season.

If he can’t beat a promoted side after an additional day of rest, you might have to start wondering how much of their good fortune was down to him and not just to luck, circumstances or if it was all down to the players on the pitch.

Man Utd cannot allow Tahith Chong to leave amid Juventus reports

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Transfer Focus series, which provides opinion and analysis on recent transfer news…

According to The Daily Mail, Juventus are keeping a close eye on Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong ahead of a potential move.

What’s the word?

The Dutchman has struggled to force himself into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans this season, and has barely featured for the first-team. Chong has managed just 24 minutes of Premier League football, and has occasionally played for the club’s academy sides, registering two goals and an assist in just two games in Premier League 2.

The 19-year-old’s existing contract with the Red Devils comes to an end when the current season finishes, and The Daily Mail claim Juventus are eyeing up a free transfer move for the teenager – similar to how they snared Paul Pogba from the Manchester side a few years prior.

Watch Manchester United Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below

The report adds the Bianconeri had representatives in attendance for when Chong scored for United’s U23s side against Stoke last Friday, and that the winger has yet to reach an agreement with the Red Devils over a potential contract extension.

A spanner in the works

Having made a huge fuss at the end of last season about how United are going to emphasise a new focus on youth, Solskjaer has frustratingly broken his promises through his use of Chong.

“The players know deep down it’s ingrained in our history and tradition. They will get a chance and they know they will get the backing from the supporters. Let’s see what we decide with these boys, but I can see most of them staying here and getting their chances next year.”

The Dutchman has had glowing words said about him, with his former U18s manager at Old Trafford, Kieran McKenna, hailing him as an “eye-catching player”.

What kind of statement would be made if United were to let Chong walk away for free, when all the talk has been about they are reviving the side with their academy graduates. The Red Devils simply cannot allow the Dutchman to make his departure at the end of the season, and so Solskjaer simply has to start placing more faith in the teenager, or risk losing him completely.

Leeds valued between €60-€80m by QSI, is that too low?

The latest update in the Leeds United and QSI saga has come with a rather intriguing twist in the story.

Indeed, the PSG owners have now put a price on what they think the club is worth, and it isn’t what you may have expected.

Watch Leeds United Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below

The Qataris said that a valuation between €60-80m (£51.6-£68.9m) isn’t wrong, and that number is a little surprising.

Leeds have been a Championship team for the past 15 years, but at the same time, they’re still one of the biggest clubs in England and their reputation is global.

It’s a tough one, as a businessman the last thing you’d want to do is overpay, but football is unlike any other venture as promotion to the Premier League is worth such a huge amount of money, and with Leeds knocking on the door of the top-flight they may well get promotion and the treasures that come with it.

We asked our team of writers to give their verdicts on whether or not Leeds are being undervalued by QSI.

Harry Sherlock “The valuation isn’t wrong. “Leeds are in the Championship and have wilted whenever they’ve had a proper chance to climb out of the doldrums and into the Premier League. “Under Marcelo Bielsa last year, they looked nailed-on for promotion but then the wheels fell off and they remain in the second-tier. “They cannot expect to be valued any higher than the QSI price until they actually show that they can make some substantial progress. “As it stands, they are just your run-of-the-mill Championship club. One with a lot of history, yes, but still. Unless that changes with a promotion, they’ll be valued between €60 and €80m.” Vijievan Jeevathayalan

“So QSI apparently value Leeds United – a Champions League semi-finalist in the 21st century – at €60-80m (£51.6-£68.9m). Or to put it in currency we can all understand, less than one Harry Maguire. Or, if you want an even more depressing take on it, less than seven Patrick Bamfords (he somehow cost the Whites £10m).

“To put it mildly, it is a staggeringly low valuation of a club that is still one of the most high-profile and recognisable sides English football has to offer.

“It is perhaps a reflection of the Yorkshire club’s continued presence in the Championship, and how they have now been away from the glitz and glamour of the Premier League since the 2003/2004 campaign.

“So whilst it may be understandable to be up in arms over QSI’s reported valuation, it is unfortunately the bitter truth. Promotion this year has never looked more important.”

Lewis Blain

“In this current day and age, it is hard to quite gauge what something is worth in football. Transfer fees are extraordinary now – had Virgil van Dijk turned out to be a flop, people would be blasting the record £75m spent on him.

“And the same goes for how much a football club is worth. Whatever QSI think Leeds United is worth, they can’t be too far off it.

“PSG have won the title every single year under them barring one in 2016/17 and have overseen two monumental deals in the £158m for Kylian Mbappe and £198m for Neymar. The Whites have barely shown their financial clout in recent times, often opting for loan signings but that could well change if they act on the QSI interest. Some may see it as undervaluing, but it could well transform the club if it comes off, so it’s worth pursuing even at those figures.”

Charles Jones

“I think that the pricetag set on Leeds United by the Qataris is borderline insulting. According to Transfermarkt their squad is actually worth more than what they are offering, and that doesn’t even begin to think about the cost of the training ground or the stadium.

“There are no two ways about it, Leeds are a global team with a huge fanbase, and although they’re in the Championship, you’re only ever one good season away from untold wealth and fortune in the Premier League.

“That pricetag is ludicrous and there is no way that Andrea Radrizzani should even think about accepting an offer around that mark.”

Birmingham could bring in a replacement for Lee Camp in January

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Pundit View series, which provides opinion and analysis on recent quotes from journalists, pundits, players and managers…

They have to find a solution, but they might not be in the biggest rush to get it done.

After his mistake against Fulham on the weekend, Lee Camp’s position within the Birmingham City starting eleven might finally be in jeopardy.

After the game, boss Pep Clotet said that he would be speaking to the club’s goalkeeper coach about his error and that’s been enough to suggest that change might be in the air.

Although whether or not they change from within or bring someone else in is a different matter.

What’s he said?

Speaking during a Q&A on Birmingham Live, journalist Brian Dick hinted that the Blues might be tempted to go into the transfer market to find a solution to the goalkeeping problem:

“If the perception is that there’s someone out there who is cost effective and who could take the team forward then they are obliged to look at it because I don’t think this side is too far away from mounting a decent challenge.”

Try before you buy

Whilst Dick thinks that the Blues should wait until the January transfer window to find a replacement for Camp, that doesn’t mean that his place should effectively be safe until the window opens.

We’ve spoken many times on FFC before that the club have options within their ranks, most notably Connal Trueman and Moha Ramos who could both seem to be listed as options ‘for the future’.

But just because they are listed as such it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be given the chance right now. If you give each of them a couple of games before the January transfer window, you get to see just what they can offer.

You might find out that one or both of them are better than Camp and that will save you dipping into the transfer market and spending money when it isn’t necessary.

If they aren’t up to scratch, you know where you stand and you put Camp or even David Stockdale back in goal as you start looking for other options.

At this stage of the season, you really haven’t got much to lose, and if the choice is between dropping points with Camp and dropping points with someone you’re looking to develop, is there really that much of a difference? At least the young player can learn from his mistakes, whereas Camp clearly isn’t.
