لم يكن داني رودريجيز، لاعب فريق ريال مايوركا، راضيًا تجاه ما حدث في مباراة الأمس ضد ريال مدريد في بطولة كأس السوبر الإسباني.
وتلاقى الفريقان في إطار منافسات نصف نهائي كأس السوبر الإسباني، في السعودية، حيث فاز ريال مدريد بثلاثة أهداف دون رد.
وشهدت المباراة مناوشات بين فينيسيوس جونيور لاعب ريال مدريد ونظيره بابلو مافيو، لاعب ريال مايوركا.
كما قام جود بيلينجهام بصفع مافيو على رأسه بعد تسجيل ريال مدريد الهدف الثالث، في حين وجه راؤول أسينيو ما يشبه بقبلة تجاه لاعب الخصم، في إشارة إلى السخرية منه وكأنها قبلة الوداع لخروجهم من البطولة.
من جانبه، قال داني رودريجيز لاعب ريال مايوركا، في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية: “أنتم جميعًا تعرفون الخلاف بين فينيسيوس ومافيو”.

وأضاف: “أعتقد أن راؤول أسينسيو سيخوض العديد من المباريات المهمة في مسيرته، عليه تعلم كيفية الفوز، سيكون ذلك أفضل بالنسبة له، نشعر أنه لم يكن جيدًا وهذا كل شيء”.
وواصل: “من بين الأمور الموجودة على أرض الملعب، كان هناك شئ عن ذلك الطفل (راؤول أسينسيو)، قلب دفاع ريال مدريد”.
وأوضح: “أنا قديم الطراز بعض الشيء وفي النهاية أعتقد أنك يجب أن تعرف كيف تفوز، سيحتاج إلى الكثير من المباريات للتعلم”.
واسترسل: “كان مافيو غاضبًا بعض الشيء بسبب تلك الصفعة، وبعد ذلك يأتي ذلك الشاب الذي كان هنا منذ يومين (يقصد قصر مسيرته الاحترافية)، يجب أن يكون أكثر احترامًا”.

West Ham didn't boast the kind of striker needed to reach the levels desired last term, and Fullkrug will plug that gap – but he might not do so with the same panache and potency as Brentford's talisman.
That point regarding last season is by no means to discredit the exploits of Jarrod Bowen, who scored some 20 goals across all competitions last season, and nor is it meant to muddy the accomplishments of Michail Antonio, who is simply a victim of the passage of time, facing his twilight years ahead.

In Toney, the likes of Bowen would have found a centre-forward with which to forge a deadly partnership, especially given that the one-time Newcastle United youngster is similar to Fullkrug.
Fullkrug has clearly been profiled extensively by the Hammers, with the German international's own hold-up ability second to none, having been praised as the "complete forward" by talent scout Jacek Kulig.

This is evidenced by his performances last season, posting 15 goals and ten assists across all competitions for Dortmund, ranking among the top 5% of forwards in the German top flight for assists per 90 last term, as per FBref.
This showcase of link-up quality and multi-skilled dynamism is something that belies the stocky 6 foot 2 frame of the marksman somewhat, but while he would be most effective at the spearhead of the West Ham side, Toney is simply a better, younger and more athletic version.
After all, Three Lions teammate Declan Rice has even claimed that the Northampton-born phenom is capable of moonlighting as a "playmaker" and is "like Harry Kane" in that regard, such is the level of his passing quality and talent to enrich the fluency and coherence of his side's attack.
Toney's strength and natural awareness of his surroundings, his on-pitch intelligence, suggest that he could have broken the strikers' curse at West Ham and provided the icing on the cake as a course is charted back to the prominence of European nights.

The aforementioned Frank has also claimed that his star centre-forward has "the mindset of a lion", which is exactly the kind of iron-enforced belief that is needed at West Ham.
He'd have cost nearly double the fee being paid for Fullkrug's signature, and that may well have proved to be a sticking point in Steidten's identification of the perfect No. 9, but Toney is the real deal and has many years left to give at the highest level.

According to a recent report from The Athletic's David Ornstein, Arsenal are "stepping up" their efforts to sign Real Sociedad's Mikel Merino this summer.
Ornstein has revealed that Edu has been in Spain this week to "pursue" an agreement with the Basque club and that the player is keen to join the club, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.
There is no mention of how much the transfer might cost the Gunners, but reports from earlier this summer revealed that the fee could be around £25m.
It's not an insignificant amount of money, but based on his performances for Sociedad and Spain, it's reasonable, and bringing him in this summer should also help unlock Havertz.
Why Merino will help unlock Havertz
Okay, so while Merino isn't necessarily going to be the midfielder playing killer passes into the frontline while Martin Odegaard is next to him, there is one very crucial reason why having him in the team will help unlock Havertz, and that is simply his presence in the lineup.
Speak to any group of Arsenal fans about the German's campaign last season. The vast majority will tell you that he started slow and ended the year on fire and that these two spells directly correlated with where Arteta was playing him.
In the first half of the year, he was tasked with replacing Granit Xhaka in the left-eight role, and while he wasn't dreadful, he was underwhelming, racking up just six goals in 32 appearances, equating to an average of a goal involvement once every 5.33 games.

However, when he was moved into the number nine role in the latter half of the season, he exploded. In just 18 appearances as the club's centre-forward, he scored eight goals and provided seven assists, meaning he averaged a goal involvement every 1.2 games in this new position, which is undeniably impressive.
Despite this incredible form up top, the former Chelsea ace has started a few preseason games in midfield this summer – much to the dismay of some supporters – but with the Sociedad star in the team, that would be far less likely to happen in competitive games.
This is because he spent the vast majority of last season playing in central midfield for La Real, with 38 of his 40 starts coming in that eight position.
Moreover, he's really impressive in the role as well, demonstrating his attacking talent with a haul of eight goals and five assists in 45 appearances, while showing he's no slouch in defence either, being the only player in Europe's top seven leagues to win over 300 duels last season – 326 to be exact.
Lastly, Arteta has reportedly been keen to sign the Spanish "monster," as data analyst Ben Mattinson dubbed him, all summer following his displays for Sociedad and Spain. He's not going to suddenly change his position at the Emirates to accommodate a player who clearly plays his best football as a centre-forward.
Therefore, while it's taken a while for this deal to progress, bringing Merino to Arsenal this summer looks like a fantastic idea, not only for the quality he'll bring to the middle of the park, but also because he'll free Havertz to remain up top, where he should be playing.
