Manchester United is preparing an offer worth £33 million to sign an “exciting” ace and reunite him with manager Ruben Amorim, according to a recent report. The Red Devils get their latest new era underway at the end of this week, as they travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town.

At the end of last week, it was claimed that United were working on a deal to sign Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg in the January transfer window. The midfielder has been watched by the Red Devils for a while now and played against them during pre-season in the summer. The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest properties in football, and United are hoping to get a deal done in the New Year as he will only cost £10 million.

Nypan would be a signing that is more for the future, but United also have their eyes on an exciting attacker who would no doubt improve them straight away. United have reportedly submitted an offer worth €100 million (£83.5 million) to sign Ademola Lookman from Atalanta. The 27-year-old, who played a key role in their Europa League success last season, is on the radar of the Red Devils as well as Paris Saint-Germain. Both sides have submitted offers, and Atalanta are open to a sale if they receive a huge fee.

Man Utd readying £33m offer to sign Geovany Quenda

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Manchester United are also looking to secure an agreement to sign Geovany Quenda from Sporting. The 17-year-old has broken into the Sporting CP first team this season under Amorim’s guidance and has already caught the eye with his performances.

Quenda, who has been labelled “exciting” by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, has been a regular starter for the Portuguese side this season, and his performances as a right-wing back or winger have put him on the radar of the Premier League side. Obviously, United being managed by Amorim also gives them an advantage as the boss knows the attacker very well.

This report states that United are now prepared to reunite Amorin with Quenda but at the end of the season, as the 39-year-old promised he wouldn’t be raiding his old club in January. Sporting CP have extended Quenda’s contract recently, and that has involved adding a €100 million (£84 million) release clause.

Começou muito bem, foi uma indicação do Eduardo Coudet no Inter, só que sofreu uma lesão no joelho que foi consideravelmente grave, ficou cinco, seis meses fora e ele teve um déficit físico quando retornou pelo tempo que ficou parado – afirmou Filipe Duarte, setorista do Internacional no “Grupo RBS” ao LANCE!.

Maresca, who continues to publicly refute suggestions that Chelsea are in this year’s title race, has guided them to four wins from their last four league games – and there is a very positive energy around the west London club following a topsy-turvy last two years since Clearlake Capital’s takeover.

A reoccurring theme of BlueCo and Todd Boehly’s running of the club has been significant squad investment, which manages to stay in line with Financial Fair Play rules, and it is believed Chelsea hierarchy are planning to reinforce certain areas yet again over the next two transfer windows.

Reports this week have claimed that a new centre-back could become Chelsea’s main priority for incomings, as uncertainty surrounds the futures of both Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile, with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite joining the likes of Benfica’s Tomas Araujo, Antonio Silva, ex-Blue Marc Guehi and Man City star Ruben Dias on their shortlist for 2025.

That is according to very reliable Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips, writing via his Substack this week, with the reporter also sharing news on the club’s pursuit of a new striker today.

Phillips has previously shared their interest in Ipswich Town star Liam Delap, who has enjoyed an excellent campaign since signing for the newly-promoted Tractor Boys in a £20 million deal earlier this year.

Chelsea have been laying early groundwork over signing Delap ahead of next year, and scouts have been impressed by the Englishman’s run of six goals in 15 league games for a side who are battling near the foot of the table.

Now, Phillips writes that Chelsea are progressing their interest in Delap, following recent contact with the player’s representatives.

It is now believed that Chelsea have made contact with Ipswich and “opened talks” over signing Delap, mainly to gauge if the move is doable, when it could happen and how much it could cost the club in terms of capital.

Unsurprisingly, Ipswich are adamant that the ex-Man City gem won’t be sold in January, as they’re fighting against the drop and don’t want to lose their star player for the second half of 2024/2025.

Given Phillips broke news of Chelsea’s interest in Delap long before big-name journalists like The Athletic’s David Ornstein, this update should be taken pretty seriously.

The 21-year-old, who reportedly commands a £42 million price tag, also falls in line with Chelsea’s transfer strategy of buying young, high-value players with sky-high potential to grow in the coming years.

However, if Man City were to enter the race, the English champions would have an advantage to sign Delap over every other suitor when factoring in their £20 million buy-back clause.

But Harper’s dismissal kick-started a tail-end collapse as the Vics lost 5-23 to end their innings after just 43.5 overs.Debutants lined up for each team with Victoria fielding medium-pacer Cam McClure and Western Australia including 17-year-old prodigy Teague Wyllie.
