وحضر الاجتماع، خالد مرتجي رئيس بعثة الأهلي، ومحمد يوسف المدير الرياضي، وسمير عدلي المدير الإداري، وحنان الزيني منسق البعثة، وأحمد جاب الله طبيب الفريق، وعلاء صلاح المنسق الأمني للفريق، ووائل محمد إداري الفريق، وأحمد الطوخي مدير إدارة تفعيل حقوق الرعاية بشركة الأهلي لكرة القدم.

كما حضر أيضًا مراقب المباراة وطاقم الحكام ومسئولو بالميراس البرازيلي وكذلك مسئولو الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم “فيفا”.

وخاض الأهلي مواجهة الجولة الأولى أمام إنتر ميامي الأمريكي والتي أقيمت على ملعب هارد روك في ميامي، وانتهت بالتعادل السلبي.

Arsenal’s academy has produced countless talents who have gone on to star in the first team over recent years, allowing them to achieve various levels of success at the Emirates.

Bukayo Saka is undoubtedly the biggest example of such a star in the current first-team setup, making 250 appearances since his debut in 2018 and nailing down his starting place in Mikel Arteta’s side.

The England international has notched 67 goals and 64 assists, often being the go-to man in terms of contributions in the final third over the last few years.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is the latest player to make the jump from the Hale End academy setup, featuring 24 times for the Gunners this campaign, scoring his first professional goal in the 5-1 rout against Manchester City.

The aforementioned pair have also been joined by another youngster in recent weeks, taking full advantage of the opportunity handed to him after Saka’s injury layoff.

17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri has been a player in and around the first-team picture over the last couple of years, making his senior debut in 2022/23 coming off the substitutes bench in the win over Brentford.

The substitute appearance made him the youngest player in Premier League history at the age of just 15, showcasing the faith that Arteta has in the teenager to be a huge star in North London.

With Saka still sidelined with his hamstring injury, Nwaneri has been given the chance to star in a right-wing position, something which he’s taken with both hands, as seen by his respective tallies.

Despite his tender age, the academy graduate has registered eight goals and one assist in his 28 outings, scoring in various competitions such as the Premier League and the Champions League.

However, despite his impressive form at the Emirates, he’s still valued lower than one player who also developed through the youth levels before moving on to pastures new.

The former Arsenal star now worth more than Nwaneri

Given the volume of talent coming through the youth levels at Arsenal, not every player will be able to make a huge impact on the first-team, subsequently having to ply their trade away from their boyhood side.

Attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe was a player who emerged out of the academy with high hopes in North London, potentially having a huge part to play in the club’s future.

The 24-year-old would receive his first opportunity to impress throughout the same season as Saka, featuring in six cup games and registering three goals – handing supporters a reason to be excited.

He would subsequently spend periods out on loan at RB Leipzig and Huddersfield Town before returning to the club ahead of the 2020/21 season, hoping to make an impact and secure a consistent starting role.

Smith Rowe would make 115 appearances after his return, but the majority of which came from the substitutes’ bench, leading to a permanent move to Fulham in the summer just gone.

The midfielder’s move across London to Craven Cottage has allowed him to recapture his best form, notching five goals and two assists since his move – leading to one analyst dubbing him as “phenomenal”.

As a result of his performances under Marco Silva, he’s now valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, a figure higher than current star Nwaneri, who’s only valued at £25m despite his impressive rise to stardom.

Given his form and current market value, Arsenal must regret the decision to allow him to leave, showcasing to his former employers what they’re missing by allowing him to depart.

It’s great to see a former player star after the early promise he possessed, but many will be wishing that he was still plying his trade for the Gunners – offering them another dimension in their hunt for Premier League success.

وأشار: “بالنسبة لـ بيرسي تاو، فهو لاعب جيد بلا جدال، لكن راتبه مرتفع حتى عندما كان مع الأهلي، أو في الفريق القطري، وتردد كلام بأن هناك اهتمام من أندية في جنوب إفريقيا بضمه، لكن أكثر الأندية التي تدفع رواتب للاعبين هي الأندية المصرية، وبالتالي جنوب إفريقيا وشمال إفريقيا مقارنة بالرواتب التي تدفعها الأندية المصرية قليلة جدًا”.

واختتم: “بيرسي تاو لا يُمانع الانضمام لـ الزمالك لأنه لاعب محترف، لكن المشكلة إن راتبه مرتفع على النادي، وأيضًا عامل السن سيكون له دور، لذلك فإن هذه الصفقة مستبعدة نوعًا ما بسبب هذا العامل بالإضافة للراتب المرتفع”.

Delhi Capitals have roped in former Surrey, Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire wicketkeeper-batter Jonathan Batty as their head coach for the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL).Former India international Hemlata Kala, and Lisa Keightley, the former Australia cricketer with vast coaching experience, have been named the team’s assistant coaches. And Biju George, who has previously worked with the India women’s team, has been named the fielding coach. Thomas Partey and Jorginho’s deals expire on June 30th, and while they could likely still contribute to the side next year, reports suggesting they’ll stay are few and far between.

Similarly, Raheem Sterling and Neto’s loan deals will run out at the end of May, and while there is a slim chance the latter could join for free, the former has proven beyond all doubt that he no longer has what’s required to play for a title-chasing side.

Kieran Tierney has already agreed a pre-contract with Celtic, and while the player he started in place of last night, Leandro Trossard, still has another year on his deal, it might be time for the club to cash in on the supposed interest in him from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad in September.

The Belgian has been rather underwhelming this term, racking up a tally of just 13 goal involvements in 42 appearances, although at least he’s getting regular game time, unlike Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Ukrainian international was a key part of the club’s initial title charge in the 22/23 campaign, but with him earning £150k-per-week and barely featuring this term, it might be time to move him on in the summer, even if he did well against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.

Finally, another player who should be sold as soon as possible was one of the rare starters last night, but unlike Zinchenko, he did not make a case for his further inclusion.

The Arsenal ace who should be sold

Unfortunately, a few starters from last night’s clash didn’t step up to the plate, such as Jorginho, but in this instance, we are talking about Jakub Kiwior.

The Polish international, who joined the club from Sepzia in January 2023 for around £20m, was defensively shoddy, poor with the ball at his feet and earned a dismal but fair 4/10 match rating from GOAL’s Sean Walsh.

However, while his performance against PSV was disappointing, the argument for selling him goes beyond that, as even though the club has endured plenty of injuries this season, he’s started just nine games all.

Riccardo Calafiori, Jurrien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly are ahead of him in the pecking order at left-back, and when Takehiro Tomiyasu recovers from his surgery, we imagine he will be too.

It’s the same story at centre-back, with the Italian, Dutchman, Japanese international and Ben White all likely ahead of him without even getting to the Gunners’ regular starting pair of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

If the 25-year-old defender, whom content creator Phil Costa branded “not good enough,” was earning a minuscule wage to sit on the bench and only make an occasional start, his presence in the squad wouldn’t be an issue.

However, while he isn’t one of the big earners, he’s still making £58k-per-week, which is way more than the likes of Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, who are already contributing to the first team in a significant way.

Ultimately, while Kiwior isn’t a bad footballer, he’s not of the standard required to be an Arsenal player, and with the summer a chance to add some world-class talent to the team, Berta and Co should look to move him on.
