After looking like he was heading for the Old Trafford exit door earlier in the summer, Marcos Rojo appears to have turned his Manchester United career well and truly around.

The Argentina international is featuring more prominently in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for the first-team, and has already made eight appearances across all competitions this season.

Against Partizan Belgrade on Thursday night in the Europa League, the 29-year-old was at his rugged best, making two interceptions, two clearances and one block as per Sofascore.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer hailed his defender for his “excellent” performance, and insisted the display proved exactly why the Red Devils kept him.

After seeing his display, United fans flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the forming Sporting CP ace.

Many Red Devils supporters praised his fine performance, and insisted he has really begun to produce consistently good performances for the side.

أكد الفرنسي باتريس كارتيرون المدير الفني لنادي الزمالك، أنه سعيد بأداء الفريق في الشوط الثاني لمباراة بيراميدز.

وأوضح المدير الفني، في المؤتمر الصحفي عقب المباراة، أن التعادل في لقاء اليوم نتيجة جيدة في ظل الظروف التي شهدتها المواجهة.

وقال كارتيرون إن تراجع اللاعبين في الشوط الأول كان بسبب ضغط المباريات والإرهاق، في الوقت الذي حصل فيه لاعبو بيراميدز الأساسيين على راحة من المباراة السابقة.

وأوضح أن لاعبي الزمالك كانوا في حاجة لقوة ذهنية كبيرة للعودة للمباراة، وشدد على أن مشاركة شيكابالا كانت نقطة تحول في المباراة ولعب دورًا كبيرًا، مؤكدًا أن فريقه سنحت له 6 فرص محققة لم يسجل منها سوى هدف واحد.

وأضاف أن الجميع شاهد “مسرحية” ركلة الجزاء التي تمت إعادتها، موضحًا أن الحكم احتسب دقيقة ونصف وقت محتسب بدلًا من الضائع رغم أن كل تغيير حدث في المباراة أمامه استغرق نصف دقيقة كاملة.

وأشار المدير الفني إلى أن فرجاني ساسي لديه أفضل مما يقدمه، ولكنه لم يحصل على راحة في ظل ضغط المباريات، ومن الصعب أن يبدأ أي مباراة بدونه، وشدد على أن ساسي كان أفضل في الشوط الثاني عما كان عليه في الأول.

وعلق كارتيرون على فرصة زيزو الضائعة في الشوط الثاني، قائلًا: “الأمر صعب نفسيًا على اللاعب بعد إهدار هذه الفرصة، وهو كان غاضبًا بعد اللقاء، خاصة أنه ليس في أفضل مستوياته”.

واوضح أن زيزو سيعود إلى مستواه المعهود في الفترة المقبلة، وأكد ثقته في قدرات جميع اللاعبين.

The international break is back amongst us and there are many young talents from the Premier League set to take centre stage.

The likes of Phil Foden and Callum Hudson-Odoi are bound to take much of the attention, but there is one man who is stepping out with a serious chance to change his future. That man is Everton star, Tom Davies.

Davies has had a real upturn in form this past month and has been an integral ingredient in helping Everton away from the relegation zone. Recently, the 22-year-old scored the opening goal against Southampton and put in an inspiring Man of the Match display in the centre of the park.

Now, with his Everton career booming, Davies has the chance to stake a serious claim for the captaincy on Merseyside as he leads out the England U21s.

The midfielder will take the armband and captain his country against Albania just as he did back in September for Aidy Boothroyd’s men.

The Englishman now has 96 appearances for his boyhood club and has shown key leadership skills out on the pitch in the absence of Andre Gomes. With another heroic and inspiring performance, Marco Silva will have to take note and look towards Davies as a captain for the future.

Recently, the Everton man has been compared to Liverpool great Steven Gerrard, which shows he is perhaps already on the path to captaincy on Merseyside. Like Gerrard, Davies’ chances of wearing the armband almost seem inevitable with his passion, ability, and love for his local side.

Now, on international duty, Davies can showcase his credentials for a future leadership role at the Toffees and plant a seed in Silva’s long-term vision for the club.

Everton’s current club captain Seamus Coleman is struggling to get into the side after missing the last four league games. This has handed the armband across the pitch to Gylfi Sigurdsson and Lucas Digne recently.

Davies has previously captained Everton at just 20 years old against Rotherham United, becoming the club’s youngest ever captain.

That was a glimpse into the future and now, on Friday, Davies has a chance to prove why he’s been trusted with the responsibility so regularly.

Lucas Vazquez reportedly looks set to leave Real Madrid and according to Spanish outlet El Demarsque, Newcastle is a possible destination for the winger.

What’s the word?

The 28-year-old has found his opportunities more sparse this season with just four league stats, as Zinedine Zidane is seemingly not keen on him when he has the likes of Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Vinicius Junior at his disposal.

As a result, it is believed that Florentino Perez is keen on finding a suitable club in the January transfer window, with the Premier League a possible place where Vazquez could end up.

West Ham and Wolves have apparently also shown an interest, but with no asking price given the best place to gauge what his transfer fee might be is Transfermarkt, who value him at £22.5m.

He would, therefore, be Newcastle’s second-most expensive signing ever if he cost that amount, and considering they have strengthened out wide recently it would seem a strange decision.

Negative message for Almiron

Newcastle seem to be coming together on the pitch and the front-three are building up a relationship which has enabled them to cause problems for the opposition.

Considering that, and the likely high price it would cost to bring him to the north-east, it wouldn’t be a sensible addition for Newcastle to make.

Allan Saint-Maxmin is showing just how good he is after an adjustment period, and whilst Miguel Almiron is struggling in front of goal he has also proved effective, and Bruce needs to stick with him if he is to repay his £20m fee.

Bringing in Vasquez could easily disrupt that, as he would likely take the place of the Paraguay international on the right-wing, and in doing so his confidence could easily be deflated as it would signal that he isn’t considered good enough.

The Magpies are currently in possession of two quick and skilful wingers, and should instead direct their money to other areas of the squad which need improvement, such as bringing in another striker.

Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was reported that Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard is on the Eagles’ radar as they hunt for a striker in January, while Roy Hodgson is also interested in Rangers star Alfredo Morelos.

The south Londoners have previously been linked with Colombia international Morelos – Sporting Director Dougie Freedman was believed to have scouted the 22-goal forward in Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Hearts.

Edouard, however, is a new link and serves to suggest that Palace are keeping a close eye on Scottish football as they attempt to ease their goalscoring woes.

Edouard has enjoyed an impressive campaign both in terms of scoring and creating goals – the 21-year-old Frenchman has netted 12 times and has also registered 12 assists.

Hodgson’s side have scored the second-least amount of goals in the Premier League this season with just ten goals in 12 games – only Watford have scored fewer with eight.

Despite failing to earn the trust of England boss Gareth Southgate, Manchester United are reportedly preparing a January move for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish. But would a move to Old Trafford really be of benefit to the Villans’ midfield maestro?

Two goals and three assists following promotion to the Premier League: the last six months and this seasonhave marked substantial milestones in the career of Villa’s playmaker who is truly starting to put his stamp on the top-flight.

Having captained his boyhood club to the top tier of English football, Grealish has impressed in his 10 league games so far this season, but consequently 13-time Premier League champions Manchester United could look to test the resolve of Villa owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris in January, according to reports from ESPN.

Whilst a move to one of English football’s most successful teams could seem appealing – as well as the prospect of European football – Grealish is at a crossroads in his career whereby consistent minutes and playing time within the starting XI will be fundamental to his progression; particularly if the 24-year-old is to convince Gareth Southgate is he worthy of a spot in the England squad.

Moving to United would be a gamble for the playmaker, with the plethora of attacking talent at Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s disposal meaning there is no guarantee of regular playing time, competing with the likes of Daniel James, Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira for a starting berth.

That’s not even bringing the injured Paul Pogba into the equation. He’s very much United’s flagship entity and one can only hazard a guess at how both the Frenchman and Grealish would fit into the same midfield without stepping on each other’s toes.

Regardless of United’s potential investment in him, the Villa star will unlikely be earning a starting berth ahead of a World Cup winner and former world-record signing; he’ll need to adapt his game around Pogba’s if he’s going to be a success at Old Trafford.

And given the crucial junction that Grealish finds himself at in the 2019/20 campaign with regards to taking the step up to international football, this is not the time for a move to Manchester despite the financial and footballing attractions that may lie at Old Trafford.

Mason Mount, Ross Barkley, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Maddison all represent fierce competition to be the creative outlet in England’s midfield, and Grealish is far better off proving his credentials within a team that’s already built to try and get the best out of him, rather than finding himself shoehorned in elsewhere.

At Villa, Grealish is one of the first names on the team sheet under Dean Smith, having started all of the games he has been fit for this season, and to give that up mid-way through the current campaign would represent a sizeable risk for the 24-year-old; a risk with a price that Grealish simply cannot afford to pay.

Perhaps Grealish is destined to ply his trade at the very top of the Premier League, but this January really isn’t the time for him to find out.

صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية، أفادت أن اللاعب سيتم وضعه في الحجر الصحي بسبب اتصاله المباشر واختلاطه بحالة مصابة بـ فيروس كورونا.

ومن المؤكد غياب اللاعب عن مواجهة أتلتيك بلباو، حيث إن فترة الحجر الصحي لن تقل عن أسبوع، ومواجهة الفريق الباسكي يوم الأحد، بعد غد.

ويتبقى لـ ريال مدريد مباراتان فقط أمام أتلتيك بلباو وفياريال، على انتهاء موسم 2020/2021.
