With the future of last year’s club record signing Tanguy Ndombele up in the air, it’s no surprise to see Tottenham being linked with another highly-rated midfielder this summer.

According to Italian publication Leggo, Spurs are interested in signing AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo to north London, and that due to the current financial situation affecting clubs across world football, the Italian giants may be forced into selling their young midfielder to help bring some respite.

The report further claims that Jose Mourinho’s side have been “pressing for months” to get a deal over the line, but that they are likely to intense competition from the likes of Manchester United and Juventus.

Still only 20-years-old, it’s quite staggering the kind of experience and praise Zaniolo has received in his fledgling career thus far. He already has five senior caps for Italy, scoring twice, whilst he has already become the new heartbeat of Roma.

Prior to his cruciate ligament rupture, he had played 24 times across all competitions this season, scoring six goals and providing a further two assists, with his ability to play anywhere behind the striker giving his side an added string to their bow.

Roma legend Francesco Totti waxed lyrical about his fellow Italian, saying: “He has explosive strength and technique, and everything it takes to become a truly great player.”

This is someone who was called up to the Italy side by Roberto Mancini without actually having played a game in Serie A, with Italian football expert Mina Rzouki further hailing his ability. She said: “Zaniolo is a trequartista, he is someone who plays in the hole in attacking midfield. He is turning out to be an exceptional talent. He is somebody who is precise and quick in his passing. His decision-making is exceptional, he understands how to keep hold of the ball and is physical and big enough which means it is difficult to dispossess him.”

Of course, at the moment it’s Dele Alli who occupies that all-important number ten role at Spurs, but Zaniolo’s age and talent may even see him overtake the England international in becoming Mourinho’s jewel in the crown in north London.

The latter part of the 2010s was far from kind to West Brom. Tony Pulis may have guided the Baggies to 10th in the Premier League in 2016/17 but a poor start to the following season, coupled with a turgid style of play, saw him given the chop a third of the way through the campaign. The club could not afford another botched appointment, although the choice they made just under a year ago seemed a very ambitious one. Slaven Bilic, who had worked wonders with Croatia at Euro 2008 and achieved West Ham’s highest Premier League points tally, was tasked with the job of trying to get West Brom out of the Championship.

A man who had managed players such as Dimitri Payet, Darijo Srna, Luka Modric and Ivica Olic was now holding the reins at The Hawthorns. It certainly seemed a more inspiring choice than the likes of Pulis and Pardew not long before him, but Bilic would need positive results to back up his rock-and-roll reputation.

The early signs suggested that life under the Croatian would be entertaining – West Brom both scored and conceded in each of his first nine games in charge, with a surprise Carabao Cup exit at home to Millwall proving a blip as they surged to the top of the Championship, losing only once in the first half of the campaign, and that was against similarly high-flying Leeds. Indeed, the defeat at Elland Road was the only one of Bilic’s first 24 league games in which the Baggies didn’t score. [via TransferMarkt]

However, Albion hit a sudden dip over the festive period and into 2020, going seven games without winning and collecting only four points from a possible 21. Thankfully, their strong results from earlier in the season meant that they never fell out of the automatic promotion places and a six-game unbeaten run in the league prior to the coronavirus-enforced stoppage of the season has left them firmly on course to return to the Premier League. Bilic has struck an ideal balance between scintillating and solid in his first season at The Hawthorns – they have the Championship’s joint-best attack with 64 goals and its third-best defence with just 33 goals conceded (as per TransferMarkt). He has gleaned 1.85 points per game from his 41 matches in charge so far, a better average than any permanent manager in Albion’s modern history.

He has also made some very astute additions to the squad in his time at the club – Charlie Austin has been utilised off the bench to excellent effect several times this season, Romaine Sawyers has been hailed as a talent too good for the second tier by Sky Sports’ Adam Bate, Semi Ajayi has been a rock at the back as well as a decent scorer and on-loan Matheus Pereira has provided a whopping 16 assists. For less than £20m, the 51-year-old has brought no fewer than 12 players to The Hawthorns, several of whom have proven to be inspired additions.

The Croatian has won the affection of the Albion faithful in a way that Pulis and Pardew never could, with some supporters even citing him as the club’s ‘signing of the season’. After some rather bleak years and questionable choices of manager, Bilic has had West Brom supporters excitedly dreaming of a return to the Premier League while working the transfer market very cleverly and delivering plenty of goals along the way. The rock-and-roll approach is one that has paid dividends for the Baggies’ hierarchy with the appointment of Bilic.

O Palmeiras tem que ganhar uma em casa e uma fora para zerar a média qualificada. Depois tem que ganhar em casa para manter e ganhar uma fora para ficar com mais dois. Seriam quatro vitórias seguidas. Já o Botafogo, pode empatar fora e ainda estará positivo. O trunfo da equipe de Artur Jorge é que a constância de desempenho do Glorioso se mantém estável durante todo o campeonato.

كشفت صحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية عن تعرض الدولي الإسباني سيرجيو راموس لانتكاسة جديدة في تدريبات ريال مدريد، ستبعده عن المباراتين القادمتين على أقل تقدير مع باريس سان جيرمان.

باريس سان جيرمان يستعد لمواجهة كليرمونت على ملعب “حديقة الأمراء”، ضمن لقاءات الجولة الخامسة من الدوري الفرنسي.

وحسب الصحيفة فإن راموس تعرض لانتكاسة جديدة، حيث ترك التدريبات بسبب إصابة في ربلة الساق.

راموس مُنذ الانتقال إلى باريس سان جيرمان، لم يلعب أي دقيقة مع النادي الباريسي، بسبب إصابة عضلية، إذ لم يتمكن حتى من المشاركة في المباريات الودية بالموسم التحضيري.

وأوضحت الصحيفة أن راموس لن يتواجد في مباراة السبت أمام كليرمونت، كما سيغيب عن مباراة دوري أبطال أوروبا ضد كلوب بروج بالجولة الأولى بدور المجموعات.

E o meia explicou ao LANCE! o motivo, destacando o fato de não ter recebido qualquer oferta do clube que o revelou:

– Na verdade, a especulação sobre Botafogo foi mais por parte da imprensa. Eu só recebi a oferta do Flamengo. Alguns torcedores do Botafogo me criticam, achando que eu fiz uma escolha. Mas eu não recebi nenhuma proposta. Não me arrependo, porque foi a proposta que eu tive – disse o jogador.

No rival rubro-negro, Almir teve poucas chances e acabou saindo do clube meses depois. Quando perguntado se mudaria de ideia na época, em caso de uma proposta do Botafogo, ele não titubeou em responder:

– Sem dúvida, ia me balançar. Era um desejo antigo. Todo mundo sabe. Tem 10 anos que eu saí do Botafogo e até hoje eu encontro torcedores. Sabe-se que tenho carinho pelo clube. Se eu tivesse com proposta na época, eu balançaria bastante – afirmou o camisa 10 do Bangu.

Para o jogo deste domingo, o meia projetou uma partida especial. Ele admitiu ser estranho enfrentar o clube, mas lembrou que não é a primeira vez que joga contra o Botafogo (no primeira fase, enfrentou o clube e acabou perdendo):

– É sempre um jogo especial, poder reencontrar o Botafogo. Eu vivi muito tempo ali. É até estranho jogar contra, mas não é a primeira vez. Já joguei várias vezes, mas o respeito e o carinho continua o mesmo – completou.

Olha, na comissão técnica, eu acho que os fisioterapeutas e os massagista são os mesmos da minha época. Falo às vezes com o Jefferson por telefone, Whatsapp… Acho que jogador da minha época, só o Jefferson mesmo.

Manchester United are considering a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho, according to reports from Italy. 

The Red Devils have been linked to Sancho for a number of months and the winger has reportedly told Borussia Dortmund that he wants to return to England. However, despite reports suggesting that United are the front-runners to sign him, nothing has materialised as of yet.

The board have now apparently turned their attention to AS Roma star Cengiz Under in the event that they cannot sign Sancho in the upcoming window. Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Daily Express, claimed that Roma are looking to make a profit this summer.

Under, who has been capped 20 times by Turkey, has scored three goals in 15 appearances in Serie A this season, taking 1.7 shots per game, averaging 1.6 key passes and completing 1.9 dribbles per game on average (via WhoScored).

Corriere dello Sport claimed that United have spoken to former Tottenham director Franco Baldini, who was involved in Chris Smalling’s loan deal and has offered the attacking midfielder to several Premier League clubs.

The Giallorossi are now willing to sell the 22-year-old for around £26.8m, amid interest from Arsenal and Everton. Turkey’s former manager Mircea Lucescu once compared Under to Liverpool superstar and Roma alumnus Mohamed Salah.

Nevertheless, it is worth pointing out he has received a lower WhoScored rating than Sancho for his performances so far.

Failing to sign Sancho would be a bitter blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Indeed, the manager has made it clear that the England international is his top transfer priority, while he missed out on signing high-profile target Erling Braut Haaland last year.

Dortmund currently value their ace at a staggering £115m, which has made Ed Woodward reconsider his options. Although the Englishman remains at the top of the board’s agenda, they are now drafting a list of possible replacements if the Bundesliga club refuse to budge.

وأعلن الإسماعيلي تعيين طلعت يوسف مديرًا فنيًا للفريق لمدة موسم، قابل للتمديد بموافقة الطرفين، لخلافة إيهاب جلال بعد رحيل الأخير إلى بيراميدز.

وقال يوسف في تصريحات ببرنامج “بي أون تايم” عبر شاشة “أون تايم سبورت 2”: “الإسماعيلى اسم كبير ولا غبار في ذلك، التواجد فيه شرف لأي فرد، الدراويش أخرج أجيالاً عظيمة وإذا تعرض في الفترة الأخيرة لكبوة فبالإمكان الخروج منها”.

Um dos jogadores mais antigos do elenco, o volante Washington admite que as participações do Xavante nos dois torneios poderiam ter sido melhores, mas não se mostra pessimista quanto ao futuro do time no restante da temporada.

– Sabemos que as coisas poderiam ter ocorrido de forma diferente. وكان حمدي النقاز قد حصل على حكم ضد الزمالك بعد رحيله في المرة الأولى من الاتحاد الدولي بأحقيته في الحصول على مليون و300 ألف دولار، ثم تواصلت الإدارة الحالية للقلعة البيضاء برئاسة حسين لبيب مع اللاعب مؤخرًا واتفقا على تسوية الأمر وعودته مجددا للكتيبة البيضاء مُقابل التنازل عن القضية، وسط انتقادات كبيرة من مشجعي الفريق الذين رفضوا عودة الظهير التونسي بعد وصفه بالهارب.

وأصدرت المحكمة الرياضية الدولية اليوم قرارًا بقبول الطعن المقدم من نادي الزمالك على حكم الاتحاد الدولي، مع إلزام الطرفين بالمصروفات القانونية.

وقال عمرو أدهم خلال مداخلة ببرنامج “وان تو” عبر راديو “أون سبورت إف إم”: “الاتحاد الدولي كان قد حكم لـ حمدي النقاز بأحقيته في الحصول على مبلغ مليون و300 ألف دولار، وأول خطوة النادي طعن أمام المحكمة الرياضية، وطلبنا منها ألا تقبل حكم فيفا”.

وتابع: “نحن استطلعنا رأي محامي مصري وآخر إيطالي عن فرص فوز الزمالك بالقضية، وكان أمامنا خيارين وهما إما أن تعتمد المحكمة الرياضية الدولية حكم فيفا أو تخفض الغرامة”.

وأضاف: “الخطوة الثانية استطلعنا رأي كارتيرون وكان رده أنه يحتاج اللاعب فنيا، ولو المدير الفني أشرك اللاعب فسيكون ذلك دليل على أن التعاقد مع اللاعب جاء بسبب فني، وبدأنا نتواصل مع النقاز وطالبناه بالتنازل عن القضية”.

وواصل: “لو كان المحامي قال لنا إن الزمالك سيفوز بالقضية لم نكن سنتواصل مع اللاعب، ولكن لأننا لا نعلم الحكم وأننا بصدد دفع غرامة توااصلنا مع اللاعب من أجل أن يتنازل وأصبح الموقف حاليا أن الزمالك لن يدفع الغرامة للاعب وسيستفيد منه فنيا”.

واستكمل: “وعندما وقعنا التسوية أرسلناها للمحامي لكي يرسلها للمحكمة الرياضية، واللاعب حاليًا في نادي الزمالك وموقف النادي أصبح جيدا، سواء أن يشارك أو يخرج للإعارة”.

وأردف: “الناس التي تتحدث عن أننا تعاقدنا مع لاعب هارب، أريد أن أذكر الجماهير أن عبد الله سيسيه كان لاعبا في الزمالك وهرب وحرك قضية ضد النادي ثم عاد وسوى أموره في عهد مجلس مرتضى منصور”.

واختتم: “نحن الآن جنبنا الزمالك من العقوبة واستفدنا من اللاعب فنيا وذلك بناء على رأي المحامي الذي استطلعنا رأيه قبل حكم المحكمة الرياضية”.

Many Everton fans were destroying Jordan Pickford as he smiled to the camera after just about stopping a shot by Daniel Podence from going into the back of the net through his legs.

As per a clip shared by Toffee TV on their Twitter page, the Wolverhampton Wanderers player hit an effort straight at the keeper, to which Pickford almost fumbled the ball over his own goal line.

The fact that the 26-year old appeared to have smirked directly at the camera as members of the Goodison Park faithful were watching seems to have enraged a lot of them, to the point where one EFC supporter even branded him a ‘clown’.

Wolves ran out rather comfortable 3-0 winners in the end at Molineux and all but ended Carlo Ancelotti’s hopes of qualifying for European football for the next season given their place in the Premier League table.

These Blues were clearly not impressed with what Pickford did, especially after making the initial mistake, as they perhaps questioned the seriousness of the English international goalkeeper:
