O Vasco inicia sua caminhada na Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior no próximo domingo, às 11h, quando enfrenta o Guaicurus-MS, no Estádio Comendador Souza, casa do Nacional-SP. O clube faturou a competição apenas uma vez, em 1992, quando derrotou o São Paulo nos pênaltis, após empate por 1 a 1 no tempo normal. Em busca da segunda conquista, a equipe de São Januário poderá contar com algumas promessas, como o meio-campista Ikaro, que completará 20 anos dois dias depois do jogo de estreia. Para ele, essa é uma oportunidade de se aproximar do profissionalismo.

– Copa São Paulo é um campeonato que tem muita visibilidade. Quero ir bem e ajudar o time profissional no ano que vem na Série B. Ainda não tive contato com (o técnico) Jorginho, mas acredito que, indo bem, as oportunidades vão aparecer – disse, em entrevista à Rádio Brasil.

Em novembro, Ikaro realizou uma artroscopia e depois da cirurgia, devido a um problema no joelho direito. Passada a turbulência, o meia garante estar preparado para ajudar o Cruz-Maltino em 2016.

– Estou treinando muito forte. Acabei de me recuperar de uma cirurgia no joelho. Agora, o foco é só na Copa São Paulo. Minha cirurgia foi muito boa. Passei por esse momento rápido e focado. Estou 100%. Algumas dores são normais sentir. É só esperar a oportunidade e estrear na Copa São Paulo – frisou.

Além do adversário da primeira partida e dos anfitriões da chave, o Vasco ainda terá como oponente no Grupo 27 o São Raimundo-RR. Na última edição, os cariocas não passaram da fase inicial.

Sunderland must green light a January loan for Under 23s prospect Josh Hawkes after Phil Parkinson lauded the impact temporary moves had for Elliot Embleton and Jack Diamond.

What’s the word?

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s League One clash with MK Dons, via quotes by the Chronicle, Parkinson claimed Embleton and Diamond are now reaping the rewards of their moves away from the Stadium of Light as they begin establishing themselves in the first-team fold.

Diamond joined Harrogate Town on loan for the 2019/20 season and helped the club clinch promotion from the National League to League Two, netting three times in 27 regular season outings before striking once in the Play-Off Final.

The 20-year-old has struggled to earn senior minutes since his Sunderland return, with just one of his appearances coming in League One, but was among the raft of changes who started Tuesday’s EFL Trophy clash with Fleetwood Town.

Embleton, too, featured from the off at Highbury, where the Durham-born midfielder earned just his second senior outing of the campaign after battling with injuries that have kept him out for extended periods over the past year.

Parkinson believes that Diamond’s time at Harrogate and Embleton’s with Grimsby Town during the 18/19 season have helped the pair in their development, noting: “The loan spells they had have really benefited them.

“I spoke to Embo the other day and I was saying to him that when he was on loan at Grimsby, he learnt things that it is hard to teach players on the training pitch – how to handle different types of games, different pressures within games.

“And it was the same for Jack, who went on to be part of a promotion campaign with Harrogate which saw them get out of a tough division.

“The development of those two players has been really enhanced by those loan moves.”

Hawkes must leave

Having lauded the impact of loan moves for Embleton and Diamond, Parkinson must now consider a similar option for Hawkes after frequently overlooking the 21-year-old since his summer arrival from Hartlepool United.

Hawkes earned his first senior Sunderland outing during the midweek EFL Trophy clash with Fleetwood, and impressed at Highbury with two shots, two attempted dribbles, 36 touches, seven duels, one key pass, one tackle and three crosses while played at striker, per SofaScore.

The wide forward was signed with a view to playing in the U23s, but has proven already that he is a step above the youth grades and must strive to feature either in League One or Two once the winter market opens.

Hawkes struck 11 of his 13 Hartlepool goals in the National League having played 59 times in the division, so would not benefit in the same manner from a move into non-league football as Diamond, and Parkinson must realise that the winger’s potential needs an adequate stage now rather than later.

Sunderland were not the only side to have shown an interest in the attacker this summer, either, with reports Leeds, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Portuguese side Braga were also in contention.

The Black Cats emerging triumphant and landing Hawkes was ultimately seen as a big deal, with Kevin Phillips telling Football Insider: “It just shows you still, as much as they’re still in League One, Sunderland are a big club.

“It’s good news to hear that after two or three of their best young players left the club.”

A CBF divulgou nesta sexta-feira, através do seu site oficial, a divisão dos grupos dos 80 times que participarão da primeira fase da Copa do Brasil. O sorteio dos duelos acontecerá na próxima segunda-feira, a partir das 14h30, na sede da entidade, localizada na Barra da Tijuca, Zona Oeste do Rio.Cada equipe já sabe quais são as dez possibilidades de adversários para o início da competição.

Os 80 participantes da fase inicial da Copa do Brasil foram divididos, de acordo com suas respectivas posições no Ranking Nacional de Clubes (RNC), em dez grupos de oito clubes identificados de A a H. A atualização do ranking foi divulgada em 8 de dezembro do ano passado. A edição deste ano do torneio conta com seis equipes ainda sem pontuação no ranking.

A ordem do sorteio para definição dos posicionamentos de cada clube no chaveamento obedecerá a seguinte sequência: A, B, C, D, H, G, F e E. Já os confrontos da primeira fase acontecerão entre os times dos seguintes grupos: A x E; B x F; C x G e D x H.

Assim como na edição do ano passado, a posição de cada time no chaveamento definirá os possíveis duelos na Segunda Fase e na Terceira Fase. Já os duelos das oitavas e das quartas de final serão definidos após sorteios.

ويحتل مانشستر يونايتد حاليًا المركز الخامس في جدول الدوري الإنجليزي برصيد 17 نقطة.

أكد أندريس إنييستا أسطورة برشلونة، أنه ما زال مصدومًا من رحيل ميسي عن النادي الكتالوني خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية إلى باريس سان جيرمان.

ميسي انتهت علاقته ببرشلونة بعدما كان في الفريق لأكثر من 15 عامًا، وذلك بعدما فشل النادي الكتالوني في التجديد له.

وقال إنييستا في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “سبورت” الإسبانية: “مازلت مصدومًا من رحيل ميسي، ولا يمكنني رؤيته بقميص باريس سان جيرمان”.

وأضاف: “كنت حزينًا للغاية عندما رحل ميسي وأعلن النادي أنه لن يبقى، لكنها في النهاية سُنة الحياة، ولا نعرف دائمًا ما يخبئه المستقبل”.

وأشار: “أرى أن برشلونة فعل كل ما في وسعه لاستمرار ميسي، لأنه لا يمكن التراخي في مثل هذه المواقف، بالتأكيد لم يكن أحد يريد أن يحدث ما حدث”.

وعن بيدري جونزاليس: “بيدري لاعب رائع يلعب للمنتخب والنادي، ويركز في الملعب، وأتمنى أن يستمر على هذا النحو، ومن أفضل ما يمتلكه هو أنه يستمتع دون معاناة أو ضغوطات”.

وشدد إنييستا: “أرفض مقارنته بي، ولا يمكنه المقارنة بأحد، كنت أرفض مقارنتي بأي لاعب كبير عندما كنت في بداية مسيرتي”.

وأردف: “وضع برشلونة الحالي يجعلني حزينًا، أشاهد الزملاء السابقين في معاناة، ولا يستطيع الفريق الحصول على الشكل المناسب والنتائج ليست جيدة، هذا مؤلم بالتأكيد، لكنني أثق في عودتهم”.

واختتم: “الشباب في النادي لديهم إمكانيات رائعة، يجب الصبر عليهم، ونوفر لهم ما يريدون ونساعدهم على النمو في الوقت المناسب”.

Many Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have been reacting in anger to the changes that have been made to their side’s fixtures.

The Premier League announced the changes on Thursday afternoon to accommodate television listings, while some games will continue to play behind closed doors after the Government’s announcement.

The Athletic’s Tim Spiers highlighted that the schedule for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side replicates what happened last year.

He revealed that Wolves had just under two days to prepare for a home tie against Manchester City and a trip to Anfield with 66 hours of recovery in 2019. While this year, the West Midlands outfit only have five extra hours in between their home tie against Tottenham and their trip to Manchester United.

As a result, supporters were not impressed with the decision made by the Premier League and broadcasters, with some claiming there is a bias towards the big clubs.

-Tenho conversado com presidentes de clubes. Nesta segunda-feira, nos reunimos no Rio e conversamos muito sobre isso. Estamos vendo que está mudando com gente muito séria nas presidências dos clubes. Southampton have been linked again with a move for Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams recently, and the 20-year-old could be an excellent addition to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad.

The youngsters was linked with a move to the Saints during the summer but they were unable to finalise a deal, however, according to Sky Sports the South Coast club are set to reignite their interest in the Englishman in the upcoming January transfer window.

Following Manchester United’s summer signing of Alex Telles, the academy graduate has struggled for game time at Old Trafford so far this season, having made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season.

Southampton are low on left-back options in their squad, with Jack Stephens having filled in there when Ryan Bertrand was out injured earlier in the season.

Therefore, a move for Williams makes sense for Hasenhuttl, especially if the club don’t plan on renewing the contract of Bertrand, which is set to expire at the end of the current season.

Perhaps we could see a deal similar to the one which brought Kyle Walker-Peters to the South Coast club during the summer, as after an impressive loan spell last season he was keen to make his stay permanent.

During his time with the Red Devils, Williams has featured 41 times for the senior side, contributing one goal and three assists.

Therefore, despite being just 20, the £9.9 million rated defender would bring a fair amount of experience with him to Southampton, having also featured in the Champions League for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in recent seasons.

After Williams made his full United debut in a game against Partizan Belgrade last year, Solskjaer was full of praise for the youngster, saying:

“Brandon was, for me, man of the match.

“He’s been fantastic in the few games he’s played, the boy has no fear, he’s as brave as a lion and he got us the win.”

In 17 Premier League appearances last season, the 20-year-old averaged a very solid 6.71 rating for United, so it could definitely be argued that he would be a solid addition to the Saints squad and could provide good competition for Bertrand at left-back.
